Fallen Angels Group in Liverpool has been running since 2011. Where they creatively explore recovery from addiction and mental health adversity through movement.

Workshops and projects are led by professional dance artists from Fallen Angels Dance Theatre through the Artistic Direction of Paul Bayes Kitcher, who is himself in recovery from addiction, with over 30 years professional experience in dance.

When: Thursdays, 12:00pm – 2:00pm, commencing 8 Jan 2026

Where: Liverpool Everyman

What: A high-quality experience including physical warm-ups, explorations of our stories and recovery journeys through creative movement, cool down and stretches, fun and laughter.

Fallen Angels Dance Theatre values positive individual and group experiences and encourages all participants to achieve something special together. Some of our projects lead to performances when members of the group are ready and feel confident.

 

Optional: Social Time at The Brink

We also meet for social time at The Brink, Parr Street each week before our Thursday session begins. For regular attendees, we also offer more advanced training as part of our progression pathway.

 

Progression Pathway Sessions:

When: Thursdays, 2:15pmam – 3:45pm

Where: Storyhouse, Chester

What: Once you have been attending regularly for at least 6 months, there is chance to develop your skills further:

  • Volunteer Supporting Angels take part in free training to build skills in how to support participants and creative work during workshops. There is also the opportunity to work towards a Level 2 qualification in peer mentoring.
  • Recovery Artists – for those who display a particular flair in their movement and creative work, and would like to advance their skills in choreography, creativity, dance technique, and performance further.

Additional activities include going to the Theatre, and recovery/community events.

Liverpool River Service – Get Moving

When: Wednesdays, 2:30pm – 4:30pm, commencing 10 December 2025

Where: Storyhouse, Chester

What: Get Moving Workshops and projects are led by professional dance artists from Fallen Angels through the artistic direction of Paul Bayes Kitcher – himself in recovery from addiction, with over 30 years professional experience in dance.
