About:
The Merseyside Creative Recovery Network is made up of people with lived experience of addiction and recovery and are representatives from partner organisations (see below). Together, they shape direction, highlight barriers, connect communities, and programme an annual event. Members have proudly chosen the name Merseyside Creative Recovery Network to reflect their collective voice, shared purpose and regional impact.
The group champions creativity as a force for wellbeing, confidence and purpose as outlined in their creative recovery manifesto.
The Merseyside Creative Recovery Network meet monthly to share ideas, co-design opportunities, build creative leadership skills, and advocate for accessible, stigma‑free arts spaces within the city. These meetings have already resulted in new partnerships and groups making the Everyman their creative home, and members developing their own independent creative projects.
Annual Creative Recovery Event:
Every year, the group co‑curates a celebration event on the Everyman main stage, spotlighting artists in recovery. The 2025 showcase welcomed 80 performers and makers whose work demonstrated extraordinary talent, courage, collaboration and joy.
The Merseyside Creative Recovery Network, current members of the network include:
- Fallen Angels Movement Group in Liverpool
- Pink Flamingo’s
- Choir with No Name
- Spider Project
- Collective Creations
- Life for Life Comedy
This year: The group would like to welcome professionals working within addiction recovery services in Merseyside to come along, and learn all about the local groups in the community enhancing and enriching lives with creativity in recovery every week.
