Written by Sue Case, Fallen Angels Chester group participant:
What a wonderful day to be had by all at FADT Fallen Angels Dance Theatre at “Picnic in the Park” on Thursday 17th July.
We gathered at Grosvenor Park in Chester, members from our Chester, Liverpool and Blacon group all looking forward to spending time together and sharing our social performances with each other.
We are grateful to those who attended and supported us to do so.
The Chester group’s performance was based on one of our members who is partially sighted, and with guidance and help from her we choreographed a performance to allow people to share and feel a little of what it is like for her.
Our Liverpool group performance was based on one of our participants artwork, Annabel is a Liverpool based artist, her work was centred around the theme of expressing what it is like to keep swimming against the tide, how tiring one can become, therefore the choreography showed the difficulty but also the stillness and peace that comes with going with the flow.
Their performance was also inspired by Alan Watts, his writings often incorporated poetic language and imagery to express his views on life, consciousness and the reality of life.
Our ladies from the Blacon “FlawSOME” Women’s group performed beautiful movement, so graceful with silk scarves blowing in the wind, it left me feeling calm and peaceful.
Then after the performances we joined together and shared good conversation and laughter.
Thanks to Fallen Angels and our supporters for a splendid lunch, and for putting a fun quiz together.
A great day was had by all. ❤️
