Fallen Angels Dance Theatre (FADT) is thrilled to announce that we have received funding from Arts Council England to deliver Perspectives 2026 — an ambitious six-month talent development programme that will support, empower, and elevate Recovery Artists from the Fallen Angels Movement community, at Storyhouse Chester and Everyman and Playhouse in Liverpool.
This investment marks an exciting new chapter for as we continue to champion people in recovery through world class creative opportunities.
About Perspectives 2026
Running from early 2026, Perspectives will bring together eight experienced FADT Recovery Artists from our Chester and Liverpool hubs for a transformative period of training, creation, mentorship, and performance.
Over six months, artists will deepen their practice through:
🌿 Somatic Dance Training
Rooted in mind‑body awareness, embodiment, and wellbeing.
🎭 Choreographic & Creative Development
Giving artists the tools and confidence to build work grounded in their lived experience.
🤝 Trauma ‑Informed Support & Professional Mentorship
Ensuring the process remains safe, empowering, and nurturing.
🌍 Residencies with Leading International Artists
Including:
- Alice Godfrey
- Russell Maliphant
These residencies will immerse Recovery Artists in world-renowned methodologies and creative processes, enriching their own craft and artistic identity, supporting them in their creation of new production: Holding Light.
Recovery Artists will take part in a 12-day intensive skills programme, focusing on strengthening performance skills, devising techniques and studio practice.
From August to September 2026, the Artists will move into full production mode to create this brand-new stage work. This original piece will be developed collaboratively, shaped by the artists’ experiences, and guided by our guest choreographers and FADT’s artistic team.
Artists will then take Holding Light to major stages across the UK, including:
- Royal Opera House, London
- Storyhouse, Chester
- Liverpool Everyman
These performances will mark an extraordinary milestone for our Recovery Artists, many of whom began their dance journeys with FADT as part of their personal recovery pathways.
Community Impact Across the North-West
Alongside the development of Holding Light, the programme will include:
- Work in‑ progress ‑sharing’s
- Local engagement and outreach
- Creative encounters with recovery communities across the North-West
We believe that artistry grows in connection, and Perspectives 2026 will share that growth with the wider community.
