Holding Light

Illuminating Recovery on the National Stage

“Grounded in real human stories… dance that heals, inspires and breaks down stigma”

Fallen Angels Dance Theatre returns with a new creation in September, following the sell-out success of 2023’s Traces through Time.

Holding Light is a moving and visually striking evening of dance that shines a light on stories of addiction, recovery, resilience, and hope.

Created by an award-winning company in collaboration with internationally celebrated choreographer Russell Maliphant, International dance artist Alice Godfrey, our own Artistic Director Paul Bayes Kitcher, and sound composer Feri Gyemant, this immersive production blends powerful movement, evocative soundscapes, and compelling physical storytelling.

Drawn from the honest, courageous, and deeply human journeys of people in recovery, Holding Light challenges perceptions, breaks down stigma, and celebrates the transformative power of creativity and community.

“If we can tell those complex, challenging stories, then hopefully the public can understand more about recovery”

Claire Morris, Creative & Strategic Director
