Leigh Projects

Leigh Projects

Fallen Angels started working in Wigan and Leigh in 2012. Supporting people in recovery from addiction and mental health adversity, we work in partnership and deliver projects from The Turnpike, a gallery and arts centre based above the library in the heart of Leigh.

Our next project in Leigh

Will be in Autumn 2023. A satellite of our outreach work in the Spreading Wings project, this project is ideal for anyone in recovery from addiction based in Wigan or Leigh who are keen to try out new experiences and enhance their recovery journey. Contact laura@fallenangelsdt.org if you would like to book a place.

Recent project: Epic Luxe

Artist Frances Disley has been working with our Leigh participants to enhance the experience of the participants in their weekly sessions at The Turnpike.

Using colour, pattern, props and play, the artist has been co-choreographing new work with the group around their experience of addiction recovery.

After completing phase 1 of the collaboration prior to lockdown, the project was re-activated online with dancers engaging from their own homes. We are now nearing completion back in The Turnpike’s studio, with all artists adopting new safety measures. The work has taken an interesting shift along its timeline, becoming responsive to social distancing measures, physical connection and the sharing of props and physical and psychological support structures.

Here is the full version of the resulting performance: Epic Luxe
