Recovery in Motion: Mindfulness and Movement Courses for Salford Residents in Recovery
Author: admin
Date: April 13th 2026
Fallen Angels Movement is delighted to announce the return of Recovery in Motion – a series of free, trauma-informed creative movement courses for residents of Salford who are in recovery from addiction or are affected by addiction, thanks to funding from Achieve Asset Fund/10GM
As a registered charity with a strong and established track record, Fallen Angels has been delivering highquality creative movement programmes across Salford and Greater Manchester for many years, supporting people to reconnect with their bodies, build confidence and strengthen their recovery journeys.
Proven Impact Across Salford
Most recently, Fallen Angels delivered Recovery in Motion 2025, supporting 28 participants in recovery and engaging 152 people engaged overall across Salford.
The programme included:
- Creative movement workshops
- Cultural trips and peerled excursions
- Advocacy and public engagement events
- A participantcocreated sober ravestyle celebration, delivered in partnership with the University of Salford
This varied and inclusive programme offered safe, uplifting spaces for participants to move, connect and celebrate recovery together.
What Participants Told Us
Evaluation demonstrated strong outcomes across the 5 Ways to Wellbeing, with participants reporting:
- 100% increased physical activity, confidence and body awareness
- 93.75% improved optimism, clarity and connection with others
- 81% said participation supported positive life changes
Participants consistently described:
- Reduced anxiety
- Improved mental health
- Increased confidence in everyday life
This included practical changes such as using public transport independently, engaging socially, and progressing along recovery pathways. One participant went on to become a trained peer volunteer, supporting others and speaking publicly about their recovery experiences.
