Why is Movement Good for You?

We asked Sue from Fallen Angels Chester Hub to explain to us what the benefits are of taking part in movement and dance for her in her recovery, this is what she has said:

Physical benefits.

Movement is good for us because it provides physical and mental health benefits, such as reducing the risk of chronic diseases, improving mood and cognitive function, strengthening bones and muscles, also keeping our fascia, the connective tissue that lubricates and supports muscles and joints allowing for smooth efficient movement, healthy.

Movement also improves circulation and aids in weight management.

Mental and cognitive health.

When we move, dance or exercise our bodies produce endorphins which are good for lifting our mood and other feel good hormones like dopamine and serotonin.

These endorphins lower stress hormones and can reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression.

Movement also enhances blood flow to the brain which can improve memory and overall cognitive function.

Other benefits include a better sleep pattern, increased energy, motivation and promotes social interaction.

So good people here with us now think about keeping moving somehow.

Whether it’s climbing the stairs several times or going for a walk.

Dancing alone in your house, movement doesn’t have to be a chore.

Caring for your body and mind is a gift you can give to yourself, there are many different kinds of wealth, be wealthy in movement and nurture your mind, it’s all part of self-soothing and to yourself be kind 😊
